It started around 15:00 on Friday, when I was walking with a friend, and the smell hit me hard. It is well known, but unknown scent. It was a great smell of smoke of the pit. I knew that dinner would be in a few hours, but I could not resist the temptation to learn what exactly is it that smell. There was a mobile unit on 8x20ft. I reviewed it and was greeted by a nice fellow. colleagues identified himself as AJ AJ's famous ribs. I immediately asked what made his famous ribs and he chuckled and said that there should be around there and did not experience a pure utopia of his food. AJ asked me to wait and within a few minutes he returned with a small southern style smorgasbord AJ's famous ribs and other meats. My friend joined me as we sample delicious smoky spareribs, sweet baby backs, boneless country style ribs, sliced brisket, pulled pork, chicken i.
every bite melted in my mouth. I wondered how something like this exists in Alaska. AJ told us about his journey from Texas and Louisiana, and both missed the food from the house down. AU has allowed us to seeits giant BBQ pit ,a sample of his peach cobbler ,collard greens and dirty rice . He said this is a treat for us and he knew he would be back. We actually returned the next day with more people. We bought everything we have plus a few samples of his giant spudbusters, which are giant roasted Yukon gold potatoes and stuffed with butter, cheese, bacon bits, chives and your choice of barbecue beef, pork, or chicken. Everything is great and not expensive for the portion we received. We returned several times and each time the place was buzzing with BBQ lovers. Some of the best meat, sauce, and personal customer service ever. If you're ever in Alaska, please go to AJ's Famous Ribs, located at the 37th Avenue and Lake Otis Parkway. (907) 884-0558
